Sons of the American Revolution's Leadership and Excellence award. Cadet Petty Officer Second Class Janine Cooney is nominated for the Sons of the American Revolution's Leadership and Excellence award. Miss Cooney is a well deserving cadet who has been in the NJROTC program for both of her two years of high school (South Kitsap is a 3-year high school) This year Janie was the Orienteering Team Commander; her team participated in eight orienteering events that took place over a three month period. Cadets were expected to practice every week of the season and attend each meet, all of which took place on a Saturday. Under her guidance, she ensured that her team was competitive by keeping them well trained and in great physical condition. Her energy and desire to excel was a direct contribution to South Kitsap's NJROTC company.
Janine is a very talented and dedicated young lady. Because of her demonstrated ability to lead others, she was selected from several candidates to perform as one of next years division chiefs. She will no doubt perform well in this prestigious position, as she guides and trains younger cadets of this great program. With no doubt, Cadet Cooney will perform at the highest level. She is very deserving of this award The JROTC Medal with Ribbon and Certificate presented by President Doug Nelson to Cadet Petty Officer Second Class Janine Cooney, South Kitsap High School on 23 of May 2012 Breidablik Elementary School George Washington coloring contest.
