The Sons of the American Revolution is an organization of men who are lineally descended from at least one person who contributed to the cause of American Independence.  It is a lineage society, an historical society, and an educational society.

    The purpose of this site is to improve communication among the membership and to provide information about us to the general public.  Under "Within this Site" to the left, click on Right Pointing Triangles > to expand the selections, clicking of Down Pointing Triangles v collapse the selections.
 
    The Washington State Society SAR is composed of members in five chapters, listed to the left.  
    The newest chapter to organize is the John Paul Jones Chapter serving the Olympic Peninsula.  
    There is also a new chapter in in the organizing process for the Tri-Cities area (Richland, Kennewick & Pasco).
 
    The Washington State Society SAR, or WASSAR as it known to its members, is governed by an Executive Board consisting primarily of officers elected annually by the membership.

SAR Spokane Chapter #1 manned a joint booth with the Daughters of the American Revolution at the Inland Northwest Boy Scout Council’s Centennial Camporee at the Spokane Fairgrounds on Saturday, May 22, 2010.  The camporee, which was host to 5,000 Cub and Boy Scouts and adult leaders over the weekend, was the largest Boy Scout event in the history of Spokane. Pictured with Spokane Chapter president Stan Wills is a Boy Scout leader, Patrick McKee, from Troop 218.
